We hope that everyone is doing well during this very crazy time in the world. The last couple of weeks, we have been eagerly awaiting news about whether camps can run this summer. Although no announcement has been made officially, the American Camp Association in conjunction with the CDC has set forth guidelines for running in-person camps that require daily testing in order to operate safely. As this is not something that we are able to do, it is with a heavy heart that we have to cancel in-person camps for this summer.
HOWEVER, we are very excited to be able to offer virtual camps for all 8 weeks we planned to run this summer!! Our staff has been working passionately to develop creative and innovative camp activities to keep your child engaged, entertained, and most importantly, safe. In addition to our camps, we will be hosting our daily Summer Cove Jeopardy, a sacred tradition of ours, as well as planning social distance events for campers to participate in across the summer. We know that this could never replace our in-person camp experience and that many of you were hoping that your child would be able to participate in something outside of the house, but our main goal is to keep families and staff members safe during this uncertain time.
To learn more about our virtual camp offerings this summer, please head over to our 2020 Virtual Camp List page on our website. Before registering, please look over our Information and Logistics packet to help better understand what virtual camps will look like as well as find answers to questions you may have. Registration for virtual camps will be open this Saturday, May 23rd. Please note: parents who have previously registered for camps will be receiving an additional email with information regarding early registration and our refund policy.
We hope that you all will join us this summer! Until then, please stay safe! Our thoughts are with each and every one of you during this time!
